Fostering a Democratic Culture among Participants in the Educational Process

Последние десятилетия Российская Федерация развивается под лозунгами
демократизации всех сфер общественной жизни: политики, экономики, искусства, и, конечно же, образования. Большинство ученых и видных государственных деятелей
утверждают, что будущее России связано с развитием культуры демократических
отношений. Однако, наличие проблем, существующих в современном обществе и связанных
с неумением конструктивно взаимодействовать, свидетельствуют о недостаточном развитии
демократической культуры у большинства наших сограждан. Причин этому можно найти
много: незначительность исторического опыта демократии в нашей стране, неготовность
бюрократической системы различных уровней работать на цивилизованной основе, и,
безусловно, практически полное отсутствие целенаправленной работы в данном
направлении в образовательных учреждениях нашей страны.

This article is dedicated to the issue of fostering a democratic culture among participants in the educational process. The author provides the conceptual fundamentals of fostering a democratic culture in a person, examines the system of pedagogical means facilitating the effective organization of the process of fostering a democratic culture, the leading role among which is played by the methodology of collective creative activity and the fostering of self-management. The author looks into ways of organizing effective interaction between all participants in the educational process. The article also analyzes the potential of the educational process in terms of fostering the major components of democratic culture in students and instructors through the use of the content of academic subjects and the development of the system of relations between instructors and students.
